A Lifetime in Lincoln County

Glen T. Douglas is a lifelong Lincoln County resident and a 1988 graduate of Lincoln County High School. He began developing leadership skills early as a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), where he learned Robert’s Rules of Order — parliamentary procedures that continue to guide his work in county government today.

Glen and his wife, Brenda, have been married for 12 years. Brenda has worked at Tractor Supply Company for the past 15 years. Together they share four children and four grandchildren. Glen describes himself as a Christian and a conservative, and credits his faith, family, and commitment to service for guiding his involvement in the community.

From his earliest days as a police reserve and volunteer firefighter to his current role as Lincoln County Commissioner, Glen has built his life around serving the place he calls home.

Decades of Public Service

  • Early 1990s — Police Reserve, City of Fayetteville. Glen began his public-safety career protecting his hometown.
  • 1990s — Volunteer Firefighter, City of Fayetteville. Answering the call when neighbors needed help most.
  • Late 1990s — Jail Sergeant & Reserve Deputy, Lincoln County. Continued service in law enforcement at the county level.
  • Past 5 years — Field Appraiser & GIS Technician, Lincoln County Property Assessor’s Office. Working with property records and county mapping systems to support accurate planning and services countywide.
  • 8 years — Lincoln County Commissioner, District 7. Currently serving his eighth year, with leadership roles including:
    • 6 years as Chairman, Fire and Emergency Management Agency Committee
    • 4 years as Chairman, Parks and Recreation Committee
    • 4 years as Co-Chair, Law Enforcement Committee
  • 4 years — Tennessee County Commissioners Association (TCCA) Executive Board. Selected in 2026 as Vice President for Middle Tennessee. Also serves as Vice President of the TCCA Governmental Affairs Committee, helping classify and weigh in on hundreds of pieces of state legislation each year.
“Lincoln County is a special place, and it has been an honor to serve its people. I’m running for mayor because I want to continue building a county government that works for everyone and ensures Lincoln County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.” — Glen T. Douglas

Faith, Family, and Community

Glen’s commitment to Lincoln County is shaped by his faith and his family. He and Brenda are raising and supporting children and grandchildren right here at home — and the future he wants for them is the same future he’s working to build for every Lincoln County family: safe neighborhoods, honest government, strong schools, and opportunities that keep our young people close.
